  • Skarżyński Polymodal Sensory Perception Stimulator – (SPPS-S) and Sensory Examination Capsule awarded in Japan(current)

Exhibitors could present their projects in one of 22 different categories, such as: biotechnology, health, renewable energy, multimedia equipment, educational aids and many more. In total, over 400 exhibitors, from all continents came to the Expo, and the event was visited by thousands of guests.

Polish inventions were presented by: AGH University of Science and Technology from Cracow, the University of Warsaw, UTP University of Science and Technology from Bydgoszcz, Nicolaus Copernicus University from Toruń and the Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing – the leader of a scientific consortium that presented two innovative products: Skrażyński Polymodal Sensory Perception Stimulator (SPPS-S) and Sensory Examination Capsule.

Skarżyński Polymodal Sensory Perception Stimulator was developed and implemented as an innovative device and program for the diagnosis and therapy of central hearing disorders together with the Institute of Sensory Organs and the International Center of Hearing and Speech “Medincus”. The Sensory Examination Capsule is the first integrated device for the examination of different human senses developed by a consortium. The leader of the project, co-financed by the National Center for Research and Development under STRATEGMED, is the World Hearing Center of the Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing in cooperation with the Warsaw University of Technology, Medical University of Warsaw, Collegium Medicum in Bydgoszcz, Institute of Sensory Organs and the International Center of Hearing and Speech “Medincus” as well as Greenfusion sp.z o.o.

The official announcement of the results and the medal awarding ceremony took place on August 5, 2018. The jury awarded to Skarżyński Polymodal Sensory Perception Stimulator  (SPPS-S) and Sensory Examination Capsule the highest prizes – gold medals in the category of inventions. In addition, the Sensory Examination Capsule has been honored with a special award: Best International Design Award.
